How To Draw The Fox And The Hound

Description: This is going to be another tutorial on a Disney animated cartoon. You will be learning how to draw the characters from The Fox and The Hound. These two characters are simply adorable and have a lot in common with each other even though they are different. I chose to do this tutorial because The Fox and The Hound was my favorite Disney cartoon when I was a kid. Now Tod is an infant fox that was left an orphan when a hunter killed his mother. An old wise owl named Big Mama finds the infant fox and takes him to an old woman to care for him, her name is Widow Tweed. She is an elderly loving lady that lives alone. Big Mama knew that the two would make a perfect match and they could care for each other. Widow Tweed finds the young fox on her door step and immediately fell in love with him. She decided to name him Tod because he was just a young toddler. In the house next door owned by a grouchy old man named Amos Slade who also happens to be a fox hunter, went out and purchased a young hound pup named Copper. Amos Slade introduces the young pup to the older hound dog named Chief. Although Chief is not excided to have the young pup around he manages to accept him into the all men family where he will too be trained to hunt down and kill foxes like little Tod. One day the little red fox Tod runs off and eventually meets up with Copper the hound dog pup. Tod automatically starts asking Copper a ton of questions about who he is and what he is and what he is doing here. Copper is an innocent puppy and has no idea that he was bought by Amos to be a hunting dog that tracks down and kills foxes. So out of naiveness he says “my name is Copper and I’m a huntin dog”. Tod just sits there and begins to play with the hound dog and eventually they become best friends. It wasn’t until they got a little older that Copper was taken from his home by Amos and Chief. Tod and Copper didn’t know it, but Copper was going off to be trained for the season. By the time Copper returned he was a full grown hunting dog and this time he knew what he was suppose to hunt. Tod the fox was also older, he seen Amos’s truck approach up toward the driveway and got so excited to see that his best friend had returned he ran over to talk to him. Tod had no idea where Copper went and he also had no idea that he wasn’t suppose to be around him anymore until Copper told him to stay away I’m a huntin dog now and I hunt fox. Saddened Tod walked away, but as he was walking away Chief woke up and heard him leaving and immediately starting barking. Chiefs barking got the attention of Amos and he came out blazing with his shot gun. Knowing what happened Widow Tweed knew that Tod couldn’t stay with her anymore so she packed him up and brought him to a safe haven where hunters weren’t allowed to go. Alone and sad in a strange place Tod walks about until he is found by a female fox named Vixey. The two hit it off and eventually fall in love. Tod crosses paths with Copper again but this time he is his enemy. Tod is chased by Copper, Chief, and Amos through the entire forest until Chief gets hurt and Tod is cornered. Knowing in his heart that Tod will always remain his best friend Copper stands in front of Amos’s shot gun so he wouldn’t kill Tod. Amos and Copper walk away and the fox and the hound remain best friends for life. This tutorial will show you how to draw The Fox and The Hound step by step with detailed instructions.
