How to Draw UnderDog

Step 1.


In this first step you will be drawing out the guidelines and shapes to create a frame for Underdog. Start by drawing a circle for the head with facial guidelines and then draw the guidelines with the circle for the hands and the feet.

Step 2.


Now what you will be doing here is drawing out Underdog's face and body. Start by drawing his big round nose and then his oval eyes. Next draw two square eyebrows and then his ears and then his mouth. Now what you will do is draw out the lower part o   

Step 3.


Now what you do here is draw the "U" on his super hero outfit which stands for Underdog, and then draw out the shape of his oversized cape. Then draw out his closed fist hands and his feet. Detail the cape a bit with some good old fashioned lines and   

Step 4.


And here we are Underdog. That was super easy to draw wasn't it! Now all you have to do is color the pooch in and pin him up on a phone booth or your wall. That will conclude this tutorial on how to draw Underdog Americas favorite super hero.

Description: Now, today on DragoArt you will be drawing a character from my childhood, and who is that exactly? Well, let’s put it this way he is so popular that they decided to make a full length movie out of him. Today you will be learning how to draw Underdog. This pup came to the T.V screen in 1964, but I can remember watching reruns on the series. Underdog broadcasted on the NBC network on October 3 and ran straight through for a long while that is how good the show was. The last show aired in 1973, which means the show, had a total of 122-124 episodes. As the story goes, Underdog was originally created to sell breakfast cereal for General Mills. Well after creating and airing the commercial for the cereal Underdogs character became a big hit, so after that developers decided to create Underdog’s very own animated television series. It was suppose to be a parody between Superman and other heroes that concealed their identities like Spiderman and so forth. The opening song to the hit show went like this; “when criminals in this world appear, and break the laws that they should fear, and frighten all who see or hear, the cry goes up both far and near for Underdog! Underdog! Underdog! Underdog! Speed of lightning! Roar of thunder! Fightin all who rob or plunder! Underdog! Underdog!” When he wasn’t the super hero Underdog he was known as Shoeshine Boy, just like Superman when ever trouble arised he would duck into a telephone both and turn into Underdog and say “There's no need to fear, Underdog is here”. He is a cute pup with a personality that is to die for. His superpowers are only active when he takes an Underdog super energy vitamin pill. The pill was introduced to the series in episode 10, he keeps the pill tucked away, which explains his special gold ring he wears on his left hand. All in all this character is truly an ideal idol to look up to if you’re a kid. I love Underdog because I think he is adorable and funny and he also has a lot of personality.
