How to Draw a Halloween Monkey, Halloween Monkey

Artist: Dawn / October 25, 2011

Step 1.

Make a large circle for the head and then draw the small egg like shape for the body. Draw in one face guide and you can move along.

Step 2.

Sketch out the actual shape and structure of the monkey's head. Since there is a costume being worn you need to add bumps, lumps, and grooves. Sketch in some pumpkin leaves, and then a stem.

Step 3.

Make two eyes in oblong shapes like so, and then draw in the eye balls, nose, and mouth. Don't forget to draw a light marking line on the nose for added definition.

Step 4.

Draw the hat lining for the monkey;s pumpkin top, and then draw in the ears as well as add some inner detailing to them.

Step 5.

All you have to do here is draw in the arms which are folded over one another, and then draw in the cute, stubby hands.

Step 6.

Lets finish this monkey by drawing the pumpkin shaped body, and the only thing you can see on the costume is the jack-o-lantern style mouth. Once that is done draw the legs, feet, and then the tail.

Step 7.

This is the line art when you are all done. Now you can go ahead and color in this monkey to be any shade you like.

Description: So I wanted to keep the momentum going and do a couple more lessons on some of the animals in the Top 50 dressed in Halloween costumes. To begin, I think I will start with "how to draw a Halloween monkey", step by step. You know the monkey in the Top 50 holding the banana? Well here he is once again dress up as a pumpkin. The costume idea came from a picture I came across in Google images of a toddler dressed up as a pumpkin. I think the concept came out extra cute and the tutorial difficultly level is going to be at minimum. You will see why itโ€™s always nice to dress up a monkey in costume, because itโ€™s so darn fun to do. Okay let me get out of here for now because I still have a few more tutorials to upload before the day is through. See ya later guys and be sure to have a whole bunch of fun.
