How to Draw a Clouded Leopard, Clouded Leopard

Step 1.

Well guys lets get this show in the road. Begin by drawing a head shape and then draw the torso shape as well as the cone outlined back end of the body. Connect the head to the torso, and then sketch in one face guide.

Step 2.

Using the shape you just drew in step one, begin sketching out the leopard's face structure. This should include the ears, brow bump, snout, and bottom jaw or chin.

Step 3.

Complete the face by drawing the right side of the jaw, and then draw the intense darkened eyes as well as the pupils. Draw the nose, and sketch in the long whiskers as well as the holes they come out of. Add ear detailing and move to step four.

Step 4.

Okay everyone, lets get this show on the road. Continue the drawing of your clouded leopard by drawing the thick neck and some of the chest. Draw the shoulder which is protruding on the back, and then draw the front legs and make sure that they are s

Step 5.

Continue the lining of the cat's body flowing down the back and long curled tail. Take your time so the clouded leopard is nice and proportioned.

Step 6.

You will basically finish your cat by drawing the hind legs and back paws, as well as the drawing the rest of the chest and stomach. Make the lining to form the thigh and move to step seven.

Step 7.

Since these cats love spending time in the trees, what better way to draw them then climbing up one. You will draw the tree branch which looks very big, thick and sturdy. Draw in all the detailing for the wood grain, and then proceed to the last draw

Step 8.

Before tackling this step all you have to do is erase the lines and shapes that you drew in step one. When that is done, draw the shapes for the clouded spots and then color them in.

Step 9.

Here is what your clouded leopard looks like now that you are all done. Add some color and maybe some flowers to the background for added detail.

Description: If there is one thing I love, its finding new exotic animals that roam the wild. There is an elusive cat that lives in Asia’s rainforest as well as in the Himalayas. Today I will be showing you "how to draw a clouded leopard", step by step and the great thing about these cats is that they are not too big, and not too small. They are about the size of a fifty pound dog like a lab or something to that nature. Clouded leopards are considered to be extraordinary cats as far as climbing ability goes. They have large paws with sharp retractable claws. Their big paws and claws allow them to climb nearly to the tops of trees, as well as having the ability to hang upside down from select branches. Their short legs may fool the untrained eye, but the truth is, clouded leopards have very strong hind legs and they also have what you call ‘rotating ankles’. This basically means that their ankles rotate in such a way that lets them climb down from trees in a downward angle. There is not too much information on the clouded leopard because they are seldom seen in the wild. What researchers do know is that they are probably solitary animals that have a keen sense of smell and very good eye sight. Female clouded leopards will have a litter of cubs once a year and the size of their litters can range between one to five cubs. Their meal of choice is animals that also live in the forest like deer, pig, squirrels, and even monkeys. I had so much fun drawing this cat because it is such a rare species to spot in the wild. Their coats are beautiful and their faces are absolutely stunning. I do believe that you will enjoy drawing a clouded leopard, because after all, it is an animal that’s part of the big cat species.
