How to Draw a Hobbit, Hobbits
1
Begin your first step with a large head shape and then draw out the outline of the body which should include the legs. Sketch in the facial guides and move to step two.
2
Thicken the shape of the hobbit's face like so, and draw in the pointed ears as well as detail the insides of them. Once that is done you can draw in his messy style hair which is pulled to the left side in chunks.
3
Here you will make use of the facial guides by first drawing in the thick eyebrows. Next, draw two big eyes and then draw in the eyeballs like so. Sketch in the nose and stern mouth. Add some light detailing to the hair, and proceed to step four.
4
You will start this step by drawing the cape, and then sketch out the torso in the form of his shirt outline. The edges should be wavy.
5
We will be proceeding onto drawing the actual shape of the short stubby legs, and then draw in the large or oversized feet as well as the toes. Make the top pads on the feet like so, and sketch in some pant wrinkles.
6
Almost done guys. Draw the left arm and hand, as well as the cape like you see here. Sketch in some creases or folds on the sleeve and you are done.
7
This is going to be the last step that involves drawing out the body. Begin by drawing the right arm or whatever is visible, and then draw the large or stubby hand. You will then draw the walking stick that he is holding on to and then draw the cape
8
And finally, draw the end of the cape behind the legs, and then draw the belt, belt buckle, and then draw the collar line and pendant.

Description: I’m sure that you guys know there is a movie coming out called 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey' which is due to be released some time in December of this year. It’s about a journey that Bilbo Baggins makes to Lonely Mountain in search for a treasure that was stolen from them by a Smaug which is a species of dragon. I don’t know the rest of the details because I didn’t want to spoil it for myself since I do want to see this film in the theater. Now because I know I never drew one before, and because Hobbit is going to be coming out soon, I thought a tutorial on "how to draw a hobbit", step by step would be appreciated by members and visitors that come to Dragoart. The hobbit I decided to draw has all the traits you would expect a hobbit to have. For instance, he is small, stubby, wears no shoes, has big feet, wears a cape and walks around with a cane or walking stick. At first I wasn’t going to add the cape, but I knew something was missing when he was just standing there without the typical cape. Anyways I really like the way that this drawing came out, and if you have always wanted to draw a hobbit in a simple manner, now is your chance to do so. I hope you enjoy this lesson, make sure that you stick around to see what else I have in store for ya’ll.
