How to Draw Max the Dog from The Grinch

Step 1.


Let us start off by drawing Max's snout, some of the forehead and then the eye shapes and nose.

Step 2.


Once that is done you can draw the rest of the muzzle followed by the teeth, jaw, and tongue. Take your time so everything comes out as nice as possible. You can detail the nose by adding nostrils, then draw in the actual eyeballs. Finish this step b   

Step 3.


Okay, let's go ahead and draw Max's long floppy ears. When that is done you can draw in his collar too.

Step 4.


On top of Max's head is his signature one reindeer antler which is bigger than he is and strapped down to his head with a string. Go ahead and draw that in next. When you are finished with that you can draw the jingle bells on his collar.

Step 5.


Here we will start drawing Max's body. Start with the chest, then draw the front legs and paws. Next, draw the arch of his back followed by the hind legs and belly.

Step 6.


Last step folks. All you will do is draw in Max's shaggy tail and then his other hind leg and paw. Erase the mistakes before you add detailing to the fur or coat.

Step 7.

Description: I know this lesson may seem a little odd to be uploading right now, but I just had to go and do a new version of Max from The Grinch. So, today here is how to draw Max the Dog, step by step. Since I already did a lesson on drawing Max from the Grinch, I don't really have too much to say except, this version of Max looks a little different because there is a new version of him in an upcoming movie called 'The Grinch' which is supposed to be in theaters around Christmas time of 2018. I doubt that they changed the story much, but the characters are all in new forms since The Grinch is a fully animated feature, brought to us by Illumination and Universal Pictures. I'm actually pretty excited to see it, but at least when it comes out you don't have to wait to draw Max the Dog from the new Grinch movie. Anyways, enjoy this tut and I will be back soon.
