Description: Hi again everyone, today this tutorial will be on how to draw a centaur. I love these mythological creatures; they are so mysterious and beautiful. I don’t know too much of the myth on centaurs but I can still tell you what I do know o.k. Let’s start off by where the myth of these beings came from shall we. For starters they did originate from Greece, so that means that centaurs are from Greek mythology, they where a race of creatures that had the appearance of both human and horse. From the head to waist right where the belly button starts and the hips begin, they are all human, but from the hips down they are all horse including the tail, hooves, body structure everything. Over time, they have been labeled as being liminal beings, which means that they are a form of a fantasy creature that has a combination of two beings existing in one physical form or body. Now the myth goes that centaurs where created when Lxion (the king of lapiths) mated with Nephele (the goddess of the clouds). There is another version as well on how these beings came about; the second would be that Centaurus, the son of Lxion, mated with Magnesian mares throughout the region. He did this because he was born deformed and felt that the mares where less judgmental of his appearance, and bred with them to form another race of creature. The story of these mythological creatures goes on and on, even the female centaurs have a name the Greek called them Kentaurides. In the Disney cartoon Fantasia there is a section where you see all different kinds of female centaurs roaming about without a care in the world. They all had different colors and had beautiful hair or manes. No matter if they are male or female I find centaurs to be a fascinating creature from the Greek folklore. This tutorial will teach you how to draw a female centaur step by step. The easy to read instructions provides detailed steps so you can be on your way to drawing your very own female centaur or Kentauride. I will see you next time people.
