Draw an Attack Dog

1

We will begin like we always do in my lessons and that is by drawing your basic guidelines and shapes to form the body frame for our dog.

2

The first part we will draw is the mouth and head of this beastly dog. SInce I wanted to exaggerate with the mouth, draw a large wide open mouth line like you see here. Later we will fill it with some teeth, slobber and a tongue. Also, draw in some o

Begin drawing in the upper teeth and make sure to draw them nice and sharp. When that is done create the nostrils by coloring in two holes. Sketch in the detailing to form the lips and jowls like you see here, then draw in the dog's ear, color in an

We will complete the mouth by drawing the bottom row of sharp teeth along with the large slobbering tongue. Add detailing to the roof of the mouth, then you can proceed to the next step.

5

The body on this dog is massive, full of muscle and strength. Start by sketching out the thick, muscular neck like so, then proceed on to drawing the chest, back leg and some of the defined shoulder.

You will now draw in the front leg and paw which is coming at you (the viewer). When you do this you will also have to sketch in some detailing and definition. Add the claws or nails which are also exaggerated, then detail where needed.

This is a simple step cause all you have to do is add detailing to the body to make those muscles pop.

Finally and lastly, draw the other front leg as well as the back leg. Add detail and definition to create that muscle look and then add the small tail. All that braun with such a small tail, I love it. Erase the mistakes and guides before calling thi

That's it, you are all done. Just color in your mean dog or attack dog and show folks the beast you created by using this lesson on Dragoart.com. Don't forget to upload your artwork too.

Description: Hello again folks. Welcome back to another lesson that is going to make some people cry, some smile and some drool. This drawing concept of a mean dog was actually inspired by Cujo. I watched Stephen King's Cujo a few weeks ago and the inspiration flowed through my hands as I drew this dog. All I was thinking about was a rabid dog who was uncontrollable and so illusive that he was almost a ghost to catch. So, having said that here is my take on how to draw an Attack dog, mean dog or what have you. I think the overall concept came out pretty cool. I mean, I didn't want to put a specific label on any one dog, so I went ahead and just kind of made a mutt. In the past I've had a variety of dogs so I am not bias against any particular breed. I've owned Rottweilers, German Shepherds, Pitbulls, Pomeranians, Chihuahuas, and a couple of mutts. So I do hope you enjoy drawing this mean dog, as I am very happy by the way it came out. Adios and peace out people!
