How to Draw a Snake Head, Draw Snake Heads
1
Here is a sketched example of what two different sized snaked heads should look like. The top head is of a large snake, and the bottom head is of a small snake.
2
If you look at this snake head sketch, you will see how close the eyes of a snake is to their snouts.
3
This is an extremely rough sketch of the many views and designs of snake heads. As you can see the snake can have many different expressions and you figure out what type of head you want to draw.
4
This is a combined tutorial of four different heads drawn out as a three step lesson. I hope you have fun with this step, and maybe it will make things easier on you when drawing a snake head of your own.
6
Draw out the shape of the snakes head and the top part of the snout. Notice the notch on the top part of the head.
7
Now you will draw out the back part of the head, and then the lower part of the jaw which is extended.
8
Draw out the mean expressive eye like you see here, and then add the nostril holes. When that is done sketch in some detailing and definition in between the head.
9
Make the outline around the edge of the snakes mouth like you see here, and then draw in the eyeball and slit pupil. Make an arched line in back of the mouth for the tongue.
10
Draw in the fangs, the slithering tongue, and then the soft tongue tissue as well. Add some detailing inside of the mouth.
11
The last thing you will need to do is draw out the neck and then add some scales and definition to the top part of the body. Erase the lines and shapes that you drew in step one.

Description: I already submitted a tutorial on this very snake in a sketched video form so there really isn’t too much for me to say. As you know drawings snakes is one of the more exciting animals to draw because they are so darn cool. Even though this tutorial came out looking all bright and colorful, I still feel that the sketch came out better than the colored drawn version. Anyways, there is a good chance that this tutorial on how to draw a snake head is going to be hardly viewed since I already submitted the sketched version. The difference between this tutorial and the first one I submitted is I made sure to include some helpful tip steps that will make it a whole lot easier to understand how to draw the most complex part of the snake, and that is the head, and everything inside of it. I guess that’s all guys have fun with drawing a snakes head for the second time and be sure to let me know which one you liked better. Adios people and enjoy your artistic day!
