Description:
Today for DragoArt we will be learning how to draw the Green Lizard Dragon. Everyone knows that dragons resemble winged lizards. They are supposed to have the wings of a bat, the forelegs and back-legs of a lizard, the scales of an iguana, and the head of a snake. These are all features of a pure dragon. Everyone gets the impression that dragons are evil and spiteful. That’s how most dragons are shown in numerous Disney and other fantasy movies. This particular dragon that we will explore to draw is the Lizard Dragon. To define this type of dragon is by its fish like eyes and smooth greenish skin. It is mistaken of the Chinese dragon because of its whiskers, mane, long snake-like body, and lion-like appearance. Most viewers categorize this dragon as a fake Chinese dragon. Nevertheless, it is a beautiful creature with the shiniest scales known in dragon history. However, these creatures are very rare. Many hunters and poachers hunt down this dragon for its valuable horns, scales, and luscious mane. A green dragon can reach the length of thirty five feet and the height of twelve feet. That is almost similar to a regular adult sized Chinese dragon of any specie. A green dragon has a fatter tail then the traditional Chinese. This dragon can also create wind gusts up to one hundred and twenty miles per hour. That’s almost the strengthening speed of a hurricane! However, a Chinese dragon possesses extremely higher power. They can make tornados with ease. The attitude of a green dragon is friendly. They are not aggressive and are majestic creatures. They are great friends with the noble Chinese dragons too. They sometimes share environments with each other. Well I hope this little bio gave you an insight about this magnificent creature. I first drew it from my sketchbook. I scanned it to Photoshop CS and colored it in. It took me about three hours to finish the background and coloring of the dragon. I then made sure there were no image flaws. I hope this tutorial will help out!
