Description: Today in this tutorial we will be learning step by step on how to draw a blue dragon the front view. This is basically a dragon posed from the front. There isn’t much to say about the blue dragon. The pose naturally tells you its character. From the image, it looks evil, spiteful, clever, intelligent, and sneaky. It resembles a snake too. This type of blue dragon has much in common with the black dragon. It is deceiving, cheating, and selfish. The blue dragon will fight its way to get what it wants. It looks down on humans and other dragons that aren’t of its own kind. This dragon is the guardian/producer of thunder, rain, and hail. This beast’s top enemy is the black dragon. They are both alike and that means that they are worse to eachother then they are to other species. It’s like a brother and sister constantly fighting over a stuffed animal. An amazing ability that this creature can do is stand on its two hind legs for a while. This makes their agility weaker and flight faster. This dragon developed this feature because of its environment. It normally lives in swampy areas where larger predators roam. An average blue dragon can only reach 10 feet tall and 20 feet long. This isn’t large at all compared to its other predators. A six hundred year old blue dragon has the ability to create thunderstorms to protect themselves. Unfortunately, the predators that roam around the blue dragon’s environment have powers more advanced. The food sources that these beasts feast on are horses, rogue humans, smaller dragons and other smaller prey. A blue dragon can eat about twenty pounds of flesh a day. This is similar to the red and yellow dragon. A black dragon can eat four times as more. That’s a lot of food isn’t it?! So I hope this little creative biography was interesting. This was written just to give you an idea about a typical blue dragon. I first drew out this image on my sketchbook. I scanned it in and opened the picture up in Photoshop. I did the crisp line art and coloring in Photoshop as well. The total time of this image took me four hours. I hope this tutorial was helpful! Enjoy!
