Description: Hello again fellow artist and welcome back to DragoArt.Com. Today this tutorial will be on another creature I’ve created called the Desert Wyrm. Now when learning how to draw this beast remember it will be very similar to drawing a dragon. Lets talk first on this fantasy creature from my imagination shall we. First off, the Desert Wyrm is a wingless dragon that lives in the scorching deserts of planet Earth. They are brutal, raging, scavengers who sprint through the sands of different deserts around the world. These creatures are close enemies with the green dragon and feast upon the snake dragon. A Desert Wyrm can grow up to 15 feet tall and 32 feet long. Their long dinosaur looking tails keep them balanced to hold up their elongated head structure. As you can see by the picture the head on one of these animals are extremely long and narrow with a full head of hair, this helps keep their bodies cool while roaming around their hot habitat. The long head attracts most of the heat from the scorching sun allowing these animals to walk long distances. As you can also see they have sharp pointy frills on their backs, these frills act as a balancing agent for the Desert Wyrm. It balances the heat, water, and food levels and keeps the body running smoothly. As mentioned earlier, Desert Wyrms are scavengers. They will eat almost anything to quench their blood thirsty appetite. These beasts can eat up to 80 pounds of food a day when prey is abundant, normally the food chain for these animals run pretty dry because they live in such a hot climate. Desert Wyrms come in a variety of colors. Some of the most common colors for these beasts are green, yellow, and a hazel brown. The one I drew has a hazel green color. I know what you are all asking, “What is the difference between a wyrm and a dragon?” Well, the answer to that question is simple. A wyrm is a dragon that is fair in size and they are wingless. They have the characteristics of a dragon, but they are not labeled as dragons. These creatures are solitary, controlling, and aggressive leaving them totally unapproachable. This tutorial will teach you in detail how to draw a Desert Wyrm step by step. The instructions are always easy to read and understand. I hope you like my very own creation on my very own fantasy creature. You will not see this creation anywhere else on the web, so, enjoy.
