How to Draw a Baby Insect

Artist: Dawn / July 3, 2020

Step 1.

We will make a circle for the head and another shape for the body guide. When that is done draw the facial guidelines and the wing guidelines.

Step 2.

We will now define the shape of the head and then draw the large almond shaped eyes as well as color them in. Add the small mouth too.

Step 3.

Up next, draw the body. Start with that fluffy top part of the mouth's body and then draw the teardrop shape body followed by the legs.

Step 4.

Add the antenna and some detailing to them too.

Step 5.

And finally you can draw out the large pretty wings and then the definition on the body. Erase the mistakes if you made any and the guides.

Step 6.

Here is the line art now that you are done. You can color in the mouth any shade you like.

Description: This lesson will be short and sweet because I will teach you how to draw a baby insect in the form of a moth. I know I actually did a lesson on a baby luna mouth, but this lesson is just on a simple mouth transformed into a baby version of itself. These baby insects are super simple to replicate and they are also really fun to tackle. I suggest that you start with a simple baby insect to draw and from there you can move on to something a bit more complex. I shall return with more lessons so stay tuned.
