Drawing a Siren
1
Okay folks, let's get started. Begin by drawing the shape of the Siren's face and then draw in the thick, wavy hairstyle. Notice that her hair is full as well.
2
We will now draw in the face starting with the eyes. When that is done you can sketch in her nose and mouth. Make sure you draw an expression on her face.
3
Moving on to the body. Draw the shoulders and then her arm. When that is done you can sketch out the chest, belly and hips.
4
Her long legs are crossed so be sure to draw them in accordingly. When the legs are drawn out you can sketch in her hand and belly button.
6
Let's work on getting the wings drawn out. There should be many feather layers to make up the design style of the Siren's wings.
8
We will draw the large rock this Siren is sitting on. These creatures where know for their areas of location. They where often seen sitting on large rocks that stuck up out of the ocean.
9
We will draw in the splashing water which is crackling up against the rock like so. Add detailing where needed and you are done.

Description: Looking through the lessons in the Mythical Beasts section on Dragoart, I saw a creature that I never did many of. So today the second mythical lesson will be on drawing a Siren, step by step. Again, this is a play on the original Siren I have uploaded which was drawn back in 2008 I think. It may have even been done earlier, I would have to look back at it. The Siren can sometimes be confused with the Harpy because both creature lurk out by or around the sea/ocean. The differences between the two are where they live and what they do. Also what they look like as well. Sirens possessed beautiful voices and played an instrument and Harpies where more bird like and where a bot more rough around the edges. Anyways, I love the body pose of this Siren. Her wings are pretty and the very essence of her represents everything Sirens are known for. Have fun and enjoy drawing this Siren.
