Drawing a Fire Fairy Step by Step

Begin like we always do with guides for the body, head and or face.

Up next, begin sketching out the side profile of the fire fairy's face. Start with the forehead and then draw the nose, lips, chin and the jaw line. Draw in the ear shape and then the hair line.

We will now draw in the beginning stages of her long flowing hair. This should come off the page both top and side.

Add the detailing to her hair which are strand lines. These lines will be highlighted in the coloring process to resemble fire. Add detailing inside her ear.

Up next, draw in her eye. As you can see it's wide, with thick liner and lashes. Don't forget to draw the eyebrow, eyelid, and then the lips and nose detailing.

Let's tackle the body and do this by starting with her long skinny neck. Draw the chest and arm. As you can see she is in an active pose. Add dimpling in the crease of her arm where the elbow is.

Add more of her fiery hair at the back and bottom of the image. This fire fairy is in an intense mood.

Lastly, draw in her burnt tattoos on her skin. Every part of her body is marked except for her face. When you are done with this step you are done with the drawing. Erase those mistakes and guides.

Description: Getting back to my fantasy roots, today I will be doing something I have not done before in tutorial form. Today I will be giving you a lesson on how to draw a fire fairy, step by step. Fairies are by far one of my favorite fantasy beings to create even if I'm not making a lesson on them. This fire fairy has fiery red hair that is long, lustrous, and thick. Her body is covered with markings that are burned into her skin instead of inked. Naturally burnt or ash type of body art is expected from a fire being even if not a fairy. I absolutely love this concept. I had so much fun creating her and coloring her. I didn't include wings because I wanted to keep that option open for the artist who will be tackling this tut on drawing a fire fairy. Her wings can be small, big, somewhere in between or maybe done at all. Anyways, enjoy yourself. Don't stray too far because there are more lessons being uploaded today.
