How to Draw Mother and Child

Step 1.


Start by making the beginning shape of the mother's thumb like you see here. The lining shouldn't be perfectly straight because there are bumps and grooves to human hands.

Step 2.


Along the side of the mother's thumb, draw the small infant foot including the toes and all.

Step 3.


Next, draw in the other thumb followed by the other baby's foot. Take your time so everything flows nicely.

Step 4.


Add the nails on the mother's thumbs, then sketch in the crease wrinkles where the fingers fold with the thumbs. Define the baby's feet by adding some creases.

Step 5.


Form the hands in the shape of a heart along with the finger nails.

Step 6.


Up next and lastly, draw the middle fingers along with the nails. This will complete the lesson on drawing mother and child. Erase the mistakes and you are finished.

Step 7.


Color in your drawing any way you like. I hope you had fun people.

Description: I seen this image on a Facebook post the other day and it really captured the love and emotion between a mother and her child. In hopes that I have done it right, here is "how to draw mother and child", step by step. The hands of the mother clutch onto her child's feet as she embraces the baby with incredible love. As you can see the hands form a heart around her baby's feet and that is supposed to stand for 'love'. I can honestly say that I really like how this drawing came out, and I know not a lot of you are parents on Dragoart, but this is a beautiful image to make for your mother on her birthday, mothers's day, or just something nice to make her on any occasion. Take your time so your mother and child comes out looking as loving as the image you see here.
