How to draw Dwarves

Let's start from basics... Dwarves are short. They are 4 to 5 times the hight of the head. Try not to pass 5 times. They are strongly built. Exagerate their proportions, so they would look like a short and massive human. Also they have a large but

Start by drawing an oval for the head. Then sketch some guidelines for his chest. Draw all other guidelines - for body, arms and legs. Add rounded squares in the places where U wanna draw his hands.

When you're done, draw an outline of your dwarf's body, legs, arms and face. Or draw an outline of his helmet if you wanna give him such armor. Then draw guidelines for some weapon or tools.

Now it's time to draw some clothing and armour, but but not too detailed. Finish his beard and hands.

Add more details to the armour - rivets, thickness of the armor, decorate the armor etc. Then draw muscles and tendons. The example of it is showed in the step one.

Last step is to draw the weapon or tools... I draw him a simple hammer. It's cuboidal with beveled edges and it has ferrule on the bottom. But you can draw another hammer, stilettos, sword, axe or combine different types of weapons.

When you draw his eyes and erase guidelines it's finished :) Of course you can add shadings, colours and some background. Try to personalyse your own drawing. Enjoy!
