Begin with drawing a circle for the head, and then draw the arched shape for the shoulders. Next add the facial guidelines.

Goku's face is sometimes hard to distinct from the rest of his head. By properly proportioning his face with the forehead, you'll create a very good looking Goku. About 3/4 of his face is very slim, turning into a pointed chin that has a slight boxed

Now you can begin sketching out the shape of his face, and be sure to include the sharp angles as well. Lastly, draw the beginning of the hairstyle by making the bangs which are long, sharp, and pointed.

Continue to draw out the very loud hairdo with the thicker strands to the left. The hair is almost like lightning bolts. Next draw the ears, and then the neck which goes down to form the shoulders.

Draw the eyebrows like so and be sure to make them look thick, and bold. Next draw in the nose, and then sketch out the lining for the shirt. Detail or define the top by making the creases and folds.

The last thing to do is erase the lines and shapes that you drew in step one and then color in the hair and eyebrows like so. You are all done so now just move to step eight to see how your new DBZ Kai character looks.

Description: I'd like to introduce to you all a very nice tutorial that will give your DBZ fans a squeal or hunger strike. Since the new series called “Dragon Ball Kai” is out, I decided to make a lesson specifically on Goku, which is titled “how to draw Dragon Ball Kai”, step by step. Kai is basically an edited edition of the original episodes, with clearer pictures and new voice overs for the characters. Personally, I highly prefer the older series that was premiered on Toonami a while ago (in the late 90's.) I remember watching the series and most of the kids in class would brag about it. There was one person who could draw Goku and Vegeta, pro! Anyways, the first time I REALLY sat down and watched almost the whole series, was when I was the age of 16. I loved the episodes and couldn't peel my eyes from the screen. There must have been hundreds of episodes that kept me going to each one. Unfortunately, I discontinued to watch the series at 'the Cell Saga' due to a heavy work-flow of this website. Well, I have to get moving onto my other lessons. I totally hope you'll enjoy this tutorial on “drawing Dragon Ball Kai characters”. It's mainly Goku's face, since he plays a huge role in the episodes. Thanks so much for viewing and good luck on your future artistic endeavors!
