Let's get the frame work for Astrid drawn so we can piece together her body one by one. First draw a circle for the head, and then draw the body's guidelines that is connected to the head.

You will now start drawing Astrid. Sketch out the shape of her lower face and or jaw, and then sketch in her mouth, and nose. Next begin sketching out her hair starting with her long bangs, and sides. Once that is done all you need to do to finish th

To finish off her face you will need to draw in her eyes, which are big and bright looking. And then finish sketching out her hair style, and ears. Now that that top half of Astrid is drawn, you can begin sketching out her torso starting with the sho

This is your last drawing step which means you will be finishing off Astrid. Draw the shape of her legs, and then draw out the medieval looking knee boots that she is wearing. This style of footwear was very common. Add the straps, and then draw her

Here she is all cleaned up and ready to color in. I hope you enjoyed this lesson on "how to draw Astrid". Even though you have no idea who this character is, you will be thanking me later after you have watched the movie "How to Train Your Dragon" wh

Description: There is only three more days left before Friday arrives. I say this because a very interesting movie is coming to theaters on that day called “How to Train Your Dragon”. Early on I drew and submitted two of the characters that are the main stars, Hiccup the Viking, and Night Fury the dragon. Today I will be teaching you “how to draw Astrid”, who is Hiccup's love interest in the film. Like Hiccup, she is a Viking, but unlike Hiccup, she is strong willed, tough, and very competitive. Astrid is the one who figures out that Hiccup is up to something, and because she gains suspicion, she wants to see what exactly her timid fellow Viking is up to. For a female, Astrid is determined as other Vikings that live in the village. You see, the reason why Hiccup is so different from the rest of the tribe is because he is not a heroic dragon slayer like others of his kind. That is why it is so easy for Astrid to pick up on his odd behavior and follow him to figure out what exactly he is hiding. When she finds out, she is taken for a ride of her life. Now because the movie is not even out yet, I can only write a description on things I've learned by watching the trailers. It's like I'm piecing together a story that I'm trying to understand. When you want to "draw How to Train Your Dragon characters", remember there is a story behind every face whether it be a dragons, or a Vikings. I think you will enjoy this lesson because drawing Astrid Hofferson, (that's her last name), is going to be a breeze. I will return with another character from the “going to be popular” movie, and this time it's not going to be another Viking. Have fun guys, and remember to comment and vote. Peace out people, and happy drawing!
