How to Draw a Teepee

Description: Indians or Native Americans have influenced America since the beginning formation of the United States. Not only have we learned from them like planting crops, growing vegetables, fight, and so forth, we also learned about their way of living and how they used to survive on the land. We all know that houses are built from wood that great trees provide, and on those houses we have windows, doors and even chimneys. But the Native Americans used to live in something much different. This tutorial is going to teach you how to draw a Teepee step by step. A teepee is what Indians lived in and they did not have square fancy windows or rectangular doors with knobs. Instead they had triangle shaped homes with an opening on the top to let smoke and air in. Inside of the teepee Indians make and light small fires to keep warm and to tell stories around a circle. There are a total of three ways that one can spell this Native American structure. The first is what I have been spelling which is teepee, the second is tepee, and the third way to spell it is tipi. No matter how you choose to spell it they all mean the same thing. Teepees were usually made from animal skin by the Great Plains Indians. One of the great things about the teepee is that it could easily be disassembled when tribes needed to pack up and move to another location. Despite the tipi’s simple design, it really did provide warmth, and comfort as well as keeping natives dry when it would rain. Another really cool thing about the tepee was the way it kept cool when the summer months were hot and scorching. Each teepee from different tribes were designed and built differently from one and other. A few tribes like the Lakota and Sioux, would move every so often to follow the buffalo to gather meat, and hide that they needed, and the great thing is they never took more than they could use. Anyways I drew this tipi in a very simple way so that anyone can learn how to draw a teepee step by step. If you want you can add some Indian like designs, or you can leave it plain.
