How to Draw a Shark Head

Artist: finalprodigy / July 8, 2011

Step 1.

Here are the pencils that I used for this tutorial. The HB was used for sketching and dark shading. The B was used for dark lines. 2H and H were used for light lines and shading.

Step 2.

Start out with a light, basic sketch of the Sharks head. You can reference the guidelines if you need to.

Step 3.

Start defining the lines of the sketch from top to bottom.

Step 4.

Add in the upper teeth and the inside of the mouth.

Step 5.

Finish up the lines with the rest of the head and teeth.

Step 6.

Outline the shark and add a background. I kept my background very plain.

Step 7.

Shade in the top section of the head including the eyes. Use HB for darkest values and H/2H for lighter values.

Step 8.

Shade in the gums and the top row of teeth.

Step 9.

Shade in the inside of the mouth.

Step 10.

Finish up the drawing by shading in the rest of the shark and its teeth. I Hope you enjoyed this tutorial!
