How to Draw a Mermaid Girl, Mermaid Girl

1

The beginning step is going to consists of shapes. The first is for her head, and the other two is for the torso, and back end. Draw in the guide for her tail and face.

2

Next, sketch out the shape of the face and and then begin drawing out her long, thick, flowing aquatic hair. The style I chose to go with is long, wavy, and straight. Instead of making bangs, I chose to go with a parted style. When you are done sketc

3

Using the facial guide, begin drawing out the eyes, nose, and top mouth line for her lips. The eye lid line should be thick as the lashes should be. Make the crease or fold lines for her lids and move to step four.

4

Draw the nicely shaped eyebrows and then draw out the lining that creates the eyeballs. Sketch in the rest of the mouth which consists of the lower lip and top lip.

5

Continue to sketch out the mermaids long luscious hairstyle, and you notice that I drew the hair the same way I would like mine. Take your time as you tackle this step because one of the captivating things about mermaids is their hair.

6

Now that the head, face, and body is done, you can start sketching out the upper body. Start with the shoulders, arms, and sketch out the chest which is her full looking breasts. You can choose to draw in a pretty shell necklace, or leave it out.

7

Draw out the arm on the inside of her pose, and then after that sketch out her hands, and then the pearl bracelet. Sketch in some detailing on her hand and then draw in her back and chest or torso.

8

Okay, begin sketching out the shape of her lower body and notice how curvy her body or fin is. The contours of her body should be very voluminous. Sketch in some surface detailing and move to step nine.

9

For the last step, sketch out her beautiful tail fin like so, and when you do this be sure to take your time so it comes out awesome. Lastly, sketch in the scales scattered on her body and erase the lines and shapes you drew in step one.

10

This is the finished line art. Choose a set of colors so you can begin the creative part of the whole lesson.

Description: Mermaids, aren't they the most beautiful fictional characters in mythology? Last night during my Livestream, right after completing the Dragon Love drawing, I went all out and sketched a mermaid (at the time, I had no intentions of the female to come out mermaid-like). A lot of folks wanted me to draw something more, so I went ahead and did a pretty little sketch of a mermaid character. Later, I submitted the drawing to Facebook and it got quite a lot of positive feedback. I thank all of you who encouraged me to continue this drawing. As I worked on it, I've acknowledged a new coloring technique which looks great for comic-like characters. I think I'll pertain this new skill to my future drawings with similar female style and body proportions. In the future, laddies, I'll create more fun anime girls with a cute Halloween twist to it! Anyways, onwards with the lesson. Thank you all so much for viewing this tutorial and have fun!
