How To Draw A Killer Whale

Step 1.


Start this first step drawing out the shape of the killer whales body which almost resembles a fishing lure or a corn dog. Now after you do that draw a line in the middle of what's going to be its face and then a plus symbol where the eye will be pla

In this next step you will be shaping out the Killer whale's face or shall I say nose with a nice full rounded line as shown to you here. Now draw a crocked looking line from the corner of the mouth line down to the front fin and shape out that fin w   

Step 3.


Here in step three you will be drawing in all the different looking patches that are scattered on the Orca's body. Some say these patches are black and some say they are white. What ever they are they need to be drawn in either way. This is a fun par   

Step 4.


In this last step of drawing all you will need to do is draw out the detailing lines as shown and draw another patch near the tail. You have to erase all the guidelines that you drew in step one because they are very visible if you don't.

Step 5.


This is what your Orca should look like after you have completed this tutorial. See now wasn't that super easy. All you have to do is color him in and you have yourself a genuine killer whale. I hope you had fun learning how to draw a killer whale or

Description: This is going to be a tutorial on another salt water animal that has both fame and respect. Today on DragoArt.com you will be learning "how to draw a Killer Whale" or an Orca. Now what most people don’t know is that Orca’s are in fact dolphins and not whales at all. Another interesting fact about the killer whale is that they are noted as being one of the world’s most powerful predators which is pretty amazing for a big sea animal. The appetite for these sea creatures vary and they mainly feed on other marine mammals but are not limited to; seals, sea lions, other whales, penguins, squid, they even feast on sea birds such as seagulls and they also eat plain old fish. When these beautiful mammals are not being held in captivity they can live a long life of up to 80 years old. There average size comes in at around 32 feet long and they can weight up to 6 tons. Now, just to give you all a mental picture, image the size of a full size school bus just floating in your pool or sitting in your back yard. They can be found in coastal waters as well as the waters in the Polar Regions to the equator, and when killer whales hunt for their food they usually travel in pods with groups of up to 40- 50 whales at any given hunting session. If the Orca is a resident of the waters they hunt in these types will usually feed on fish. When it comes to their young, the whales become very protective especially of the females because the females aid the parents with the younger mammals. A mother Orca stays pregnant for almost 2 years (17 months to be exact), and they only give birth every 3-10 years depending on their health and living conditions. A popular movie that stared a killer whale was Free Willy which was actually based on a true story. In this tutorial you will learn how to draw a killer whale or Orca step by step. It is easy as 1, 2, 3. After you are done you will be amazed at what you have just created. I love drawing sea animals because I think they are one of the interesting types of species in the world.
