Drawing Yellow Diamond from Steven Universe

Begin by making the guidelines for Yellow Diamond. This will help us in the drawing process in future steps. Don't forget to sketch in the facial guidelines too.

We will use the head/face shape that you made in step one to draw in the structure of Yellow Diamond's face shape. As you can see the lining is angled making her face look boxy.

Here you will draw in the helmet or hairstyle for Yellow Diamond. The style is sort of cone shaped with the hair on the sides hooking upward.

You can now draw in the face. Start with the sloped shaped eyes, then draw the nose and snarling mouth. The eyes should have some shading under them for an intense stare.

Once the face and head is all drawn in we can work on the body starting with the long straight neck. After that draw the rounded torso and hourglass like figure.

You can continue to work on the body by drawing the cone shaped shoulder pads or sleeves. When that is done draw the thin shaped arms which should also be pretty long.

Cap off the arms by drawing the shield style gloves that covers the forearms like so.

Lastly, draw the pattern on her suit which is a diamond on the chest and the seam lining on the lower part of the body. Erase the mistakes as well as the guides you made along the way.

When your drawing is done the line art should look like the line art you see here. Color in Yellow Diamond before you show off your work to someone you know.

Description: For those of you who are major Steven Universe fans here is a character that is not seen often, but is pretty new to the show. Today I will be showing you how to draw Yellow Diamond, step by step. Now from what I understand Yellow Diamond rules over the Gem Race and is part of the Great Diamond Authority. She is predominately yellow in color (hence yellow diamond) and she is also a very intimidating figure when she makes an appearance. Drawing Yellow Diamond shouldn't be too bad, but in case you are having a hard time recreating Yellow Diamond, I suggest you slow down, take your time and keep trying until you get it right. Steven Universe has become way more popular than I expected it to, so I'm sure there are plenty of fans of the series who would enjoy this tut. Adios amigos and have fun.
