How to Draw Ushio, Clannad

Step 1.


You will begin with a circle shape for the head and then draw in one facial guideline like so.

Step 2.


The next thing you will need to do is sketch out the shape of the face focusing on the cheeks and chin. Notice how the chin comes to a point. Draw the thick and bold eyelids for the beginning of the eye-line process.

Step 3.


Next, draw the eyebrows, and the shapes of the eyes. You will also need to sketch some blush marks on the cheeks as well as draw in the nose and mouth.

Step 4.


You are ready to start drawing the head and hair. The first thing you should do is draw the full set of bangs. There should be space to expose some of the open area of the bangs. Once the hair is drawn in you can sketch out the ears, and then draw th   

Step 5.


Lastly, make the arch for the top part of the hat as well as the material that rests on the back of the head. Continue with drawing more of the hair until it's finished, then draw in the shape of the neck, as well as the shoulders, shirt collar, and    

Step 6.


You are now ready to color in Ushio. You can use the color scheme from the finished thumbnail if you like, or go with what you want. Either way you did a great job!

Description: So this new character I'm submitting is from an anime I've never heard of, Clannad. The name itself confuses me with 'clam' and 'clammed'. Though I'm ignorant to what exactly this series is about, or what the character's strive for. All I can say is that Ushio was pretty easy and fun to work with, considering she has the traditional 'big eyed, tiny lips/nose' anime style. The coloring process was fun. Coloring skin with those mid-orange hues, and the hair with chocolate colored hair. Hopefully this tutorial will give you a basic setup on "how to draw Ushio from Clannad", step by step.
