How to Draw The Cat in the Hat, Dr Seuss

Make the circle shape for the head/face guide and then draw in the guidelines for the face, hat and neck.

We will begin to form the face starting with the forehead, snout, mouth and smile. When that is done proceed to step three.

Up next, use the facial guidelines to draw in the eyes, nose and whiskers.

Draw the ear and then add some fluff on the sides of the face.

We will now draw in the lid for the hat and then when you are done with that proceed to step six.

Up next, draw in length of the top hat which is also very worn.

We will add the stripes on the hat and then draw the primitive style shading along the back part of the hat. Add some fuzz to the face and draw the cat's neck. Again, add primitive shading along one side of the neck.

We will now draw in the outline of the signature bow tie and when that is done add the ribbon as well.

For the last drawing step all you have to do is draw the body and then some of the fuzz on the right side of the body. Erase the mistakes if you made any along with the guides.

You are all done. Now you can color in Cat in the Hat.

Description: Well, Christmas is tomorrow and today I will show you how to draw The Cat in the Hat, step by step. This is a character from the Dr. Seuss book series. Some of the more popular books by Dr. Seuss are; Oh, the Places You’ll Go, Green Eggs and Ham, The Cat in the Hat, The Lorax, How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, and of course One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish. I know there are many, many more books by Dr. Seuss, but if I listed them all I would be here all day. Anyways, have fun drawing Cat in the Hat or Dr. Seuss.
