How to Draw Profile Faces and Mouths Side View

Step 1.


This is just a quick sketch of six different profile faces that are commonly drawn in anime/manga cartoons. Take a look at them and study the faces as you see them here so you can get a mental picture when it is time to follow the drawing steps.

Step 2.


Again this is six more profile faces that you can study up on. This time I used a girls face instead of the male. Same facial expressions as the male, but this profile is that of a girl.

Step 3.


As you can see in this diagram here it explains the difference between a male face profile and the female face profile.

Step 4.


Like I said in step three, males have larger nostrils than females as you can see here and the lips of a female are more curvy and full. Looking very feminine.

Step 5.


Lets start learning How to Draw Profile Faces shall we? First thing to do is draw a line for both faces the way you see them here.

Step 6.


Next draw out the shapes of the noses for the female profile and the male profile. Add the lip lines as well.

Step 7.


Next draw out the jaw and chin as well as the lips and or mouths of the profile faces side view. Color in the female lips as you see here.

Step 8.


Add the detailing line for the nostril holes on both the male and female profile faces. On the male you will draw a neck line and then add the Adams apple. Erase the guidelines to prepare for color.

Step 9.

Description: I think this next lesson will really be helpful for a lot of people out there that have trouble drawing a face. For my third tutorial I will show you “How to Draw Profile Faces and Mouths Side View step by step”. For me, it took a real long time for me to draw faces in portion and perspective. I still have problems getting it done right without erasing and drawing over and over again. I have gotten so many request to show people how to draw faces which includes eyes, noses, mouths, ears, hair and even how to draw teeth. With this lesson I will layout six different points of view on six different ways you can learn “how to draw profile faces, eyes, mouths, noses, and ears step by step”. I mean the list can go on and on. Although the lesson is under the “face” section of people, as you can see the profile faces that you will learn how to draw are anime style. Drawing anime profiles can be a lot easier than learning how to draw profiles for a regular person. The cartoon quality is better because there is less detailing and it can come out one hundred percent better than a real person's profile. When learning how to draw anime profile views, you will take the knowledge you learned from this lesson and can gradually carry it over to your next attempt to draw human faces and profiles. I know you guys will like this lesson because I had fun drawing it out for you.
