How to Draw Haruka Suenaga
1
Let us begin by making a head guide by drawing a circle shape. Next, add the facial guide as well as the body's line of motion.
2
Sketch out the structure shape of her face and then draw in the beginning parts of her hair which is the bangs and face framing sides.
3
Using the guideline you drew in step one, begin drawing Haruka's eyes. Start off by making the top lids thick and or dark like so. Once that is done draw the simple shape of her mouth which is in an open pose. Add the thin eyebrows, and then light da
4
Make a bowl like shape around her head to form the hair that surrounded her face. Like Mika Hatsune, Haruka also has very long but wavy pigtails. You will need to draw the first one to the right side of her head. The position of her pigtail is in a f

Draw in the cute detailed ribbons in her hair which are also holding her pigtails in place. Even though you only have one ponytail drawn, you will also need to draw the ribbon on the opposite side of her head.

Next, make the other pigtail but this time draw it fatter or thicker than the first one. When drawing a character that is in a motion pose, some aspects of the body and hair should be drawn in a manner to match the concept. Sketch in hair strand deta

Is it easier to draw her shirt bow first? For some it may not be, but for me, this is how I drew her out. Following the step begin drawing the loose fitting bow with long loops and ribbon strands.

Now you can sketch out her neck, as well as the shoulders, sleeves and some creases on her sleeves. make the V cute neck line like so, and when you are done you can move along to step nine.

For the last step all you need to do is draw more pieces of her long straight style hair, and then add some of her skirt ruffle which is trying to peek through at the bottom of the drawing. Erase all the guidelines and mistakes that you made along th

Description: For those of you that loved the Mirai Suenaga tutorial (which is now in the top 50), I wanted to make another lesson based on a character or figure created by Danny Choo. It is going to be on Mirai's little sister who is as bubbly as she looks. Here is "how to draw Haruka Suenaga", step by step. I really did have a lot of fun recreating Danny Choo's work because his characters are so bright and always seem cheerful. Haruka was originally going to be named Kako, but in the end it was decided that the name Kako didn't sound good, and I guess it didn't fit the whole theme of what the creators were going for which is having all the family members names representing the concept of time. I think Haruka is a perfect fit for this pink haired, blue eyed beauty. I kept the tutorial concept simple because I wanted folks of all skill levels have the chance to tackle the task of drawing Haruka Suenaga. There is a more detailed layout of this character that you can check out located on Danny Choo's page. Here is the link for Haruka Suenaga, and it is there that you can look at a more detailed breakdown of Danny Choo's creation. Well that's about it for this lesson, have fun and remember to vote, and comment to let others know what you think. Thanks guys and enjoy!
