How to Draw Crystal Rainbow Dash, My Little Pony

1

First, we will start with our basic guidelines.

2

Next, we will start sketching her head, eyes, and hair. The front of her mane reminds me of an Elvis or the Fonz hairdo. But in the back it is put over to the side neatly in a hairtie.

3

Now, we will sketch in her body, along with her wing and legs.

4

After, we will sketch her tail. It too is done up neatly rather than the normal rough, spiky looking tail that Rainbow Dash normally has.

5

Next is her cutie mark. Which is the same of course!

6

Now, we color her in. But she still looks like a normal coated Rainbow Dash, so lets continue to step 7.

7

This is where things can be a little hectic. We shape out the crystal effect of her mane. If you're going digital this can be a bit tricky. If you're going traditional, LIGHTLY, and I strongly mean that, outline the shapes of the crystal effect.

8

Now, color in the shapes. Digital: after coloring, turn the opacity (how much you can see through the color) down, so it could blend with RD's colors. Traditional: When using colors lightly shade in the shapes.

9

(Mainly for digital) Now since she is crystallized, she has to be a bit "see through" so slightly lower her opacity. And after that you're all done! Hope I didn't make it too complicated, but if you completed it good job! I'll see you again with anot
