How to Draw a Tribal Skull

Step 1.

Begin with making a nice bold plus mark with the horizontal line being lower than normal.

Step 2.

Once you get your guidelines drawn in, the first thing that you will tackle is getting the nose drawn out. Start with thick filled in sides, with a notch in the middle.

Step 3.

Next, draw out the entire top part of your tribal skull. When you do this you will then need to draw out the tribal indents on the sides of the head which would normally be the temples. Draw out the shapes of the eyes like so, then color them in soli

Step 4.

Take your time as you draw out the nice tribal pattern on top of the head and forehead. You can choose to tweak the tribal design if you like, or you can choose to replicate the one you see here verbatim. Draw in the tribal marks above the eyes, then

Step 5.

Make some simple thick lining to form the cheek bones and mid section of the mouth when the teeth will go. Add detailing to the cheek bones like so, then you are ready to tackle step six.

Step 6.

Lastly, fill the top part of the mouth with the skull's teeth, and be sure to make fangs as well. Add some shading along the top part of the teeth, then you can start erasing the mistakes you may have made along the way.

Step 7.

When all is said and done your tribal skull should come out looking like, or similar to the one you see here. Now you have some new stencil art for your next tattoo design.

Description: Aloha people, here I am once again with another fun lesson that will be really cool to recreate. Since there has been a lot of requests for more tribal art tutorials, I went ahead and made another Dragoart skull design. Here you will learn once again "how to draw a tribal skull", step by step. I have talked many times before so I'm really at a loss when it comes to words for this description. I can tell you that this was an interesting task to take on because my tribal designs have changed a bit since I first started with drawing tribal artwork. This is a real basic and simple concept that I think a lot of people will like. It also makes a great design for a tribal skull tattoo. Skulls will always be in, so when you come up with a new way to design one it's always cool. That's pretty much it for now, I will be back with another chibi so try to stay tuned in to Dragoart.com to see if the chibi tut is based on a character you'v4e been waiting for. Adios people and peace out!
