1

Draw a long half spiral line which will be your guide for the French horn.

2

Next up, draw out the entire shape of the horn's bell which is the bell shape, then draw the curled tube of the instrument.

3

Here you will draw in the tuning tubes like so, then draw in valve keys, and the rest of the knobs or keys on the French Horn.

4

Draw the lip around the base or end of the bell, then draw the rest of the small, skinny tubes. Erase your mistakes then you are done.

5

Here is the French horn when finished. Color it in and that's it.

Description: La da da, la da da. I know many of you are not going to find this lesson useful, but it is something that was requested a while ago by a member who wanted to learn "how to draw a French horn". I personally have never heard a French horn live or in music. Actually, I should rephrase that because I might have heard a French horn, but I just didn't recognize the sound. Anyways, these instruments are one of many interesting horn pieces that have a complex design work. The bent brass and tubing makes drawing a French Horn a but intimidating to tackle. I want to assure you that this tut won't be as hard as you think. So have fun, make music, or better yet make music with drawing music. I will return with fun and more interesting concepts later today. Adios and peace out.
