Description: Let’s take a different approach on this tutorial. Since I love fantasy and Greek mythology, I though it would be cool to make a tutorial on a Chimera. For those who don’t know what exactly a chimera is, she is from Greek mythology and was considered to be a monster. Now, this female beast was made of three different types of animal and is said to breathe fire, she was also the daughter of Typhon and Echidna. The first piece of her was the head and body of a lion, two, and it had another head that was more rear facing of a goat with ram looking udders or horns, and the tail of a serpent or dragon. This beast was a female, who terrorized the people of Lykia in Anatolia. As the story goes a brave warrior named Bellerophon, was ordered to kill the blood thirsty beast, and this command came from King Iobates. A short while after Bellerophon took flight on his flying horse Pegasus to take the evil Chimera out by battling her to the death. He eventually drove a long sharp spear through the throat of the two headed beast and dropped it dead. There are also stories that the Chimera mated with her brother Orthrus which in turn mothered the well known Sphinx and the Nemean Lion. But of course that is just a myth as with all of Greek mythology. I love drawing different types of animals from fantasy, mythology, and from my own imagination. I intend on submitting a few tutorials on my own personal creatures that I conjured up over time. For those of you who don’t know, I have been drawing since I was 9, and most of my art work is fantasy creatures because that is my specialty. I always try new things because I want to perfect my skill to where I can draw anything, as you may have noticed that when it comes to drawing people, or objects, the drawings are not as good as my dragons, or other animals. The Chimera is just one thing that I have tons of sketches on, and once a week I will go through my sketch book and pick out one drawing that I think people would like to learn how to draw. So having said all of that this is my tutorial on how to draw a Chimera step by step. As you all know my instructions are always easy to read and understand, and this is why I believe you can draw just as well as me or even better. So have fun with this tutorial and remember you can color the Chimera any color you want.
