Description: Did you all like the last lesson on the flag of China? Pretty sweet reading huh? I am going to do one more flag tutorial for the day and then I will get back to submitting more fun stuff to learn how to draw. The next flag I am submitting and making a lesson on is “how to draw a British flag step by step”. The flag of Great Britain is probably just as or more interesting than that of China or the United States. First off the British flag represents three different countries that are under one Sovereign. The three countries are as follows; first is the flag of England, and it is represented by the cross of Saint George. An easy way to see Saint Georges cross is to view the flag and look for the red cross on a white background. The next country that shares the combination to make up this heraldic flag is Scotland. Scotland is represented by the cross of Saint Andrew and that cross is white going in a diagonal direction on a blue base, canvas or background. The last to share the flag is Northern Ireland. The North Ireland cross is represented by that of Saint Patrick and it is the red diagonal cross with the white background. As for the single flag of Scotland it is blue and white, and Ireland has a three colored flag; green, white and orange. Did you know that the British flag is one of the oldest flags in the world? It’s true, the flag of Great Britain was established on January 1, 1801, but the very first British flag dates back to 1606 when the Kingdoms of England and Scotland where combined. The flag of Northern Ireland wasn’t added until 1801. The flag is also called the “Union Jack” and the “Union flag”. Pretty cool huh? Anyways, I have to go once again but I shall return. Right now I will show you guys “how to draw a British flag” step by step. See you soon and peace out! Happy drawing everyone.
