We will begin by drawing the top blade line for the Bowie knife. Notice the tip curves upward a bit.

Up next draw in the full shape of the Bowie blade. There should be a notch at the base of the blade.

Here you will draw in the hand guard which is also like a collar for the base of the knife.

I wanted by Bowie knife to have a serrated top where it is used to saw things.

For the last drawing step all you have to do is draw in the handle and butt of the whole knife. Erase the mistakes that you made through out the lesson.

That's it you are all done. Now you can color in your Bowie knife or draw a tree or other object to poke it in.

Description: Here is an interested idea that came to mind a few days ago. I was looking through the weapons section of Dragoart and I didn't see a tut on knife that looked like Rambo's from the second film. I decided to make "how to draw a Bowie knife", step by step. A Bowie knife was a popularized weapon that begun its fame back in the nineteenth century when Colonel James "Jim" Bowie was in a dual or fight and used an over-sized knife that carries a pattern that will last or be around for a lifetime. The famous fight that James Bowie took part of, was called the 'Sandbar Fight'. It was a battle that badly injured Bowie, but despite the wounds he still ended up the winner. I do hope you will have fun drawing a Bowie knife as did I.
