How to Draw Life and Death Yin Yang

Okay, like always we will begin the first step by drawing out the guidelines and shapes to form the framework for our two figures. At this point they look like wooden mannequins.

For our second step we will begin by drawing out the profile of the human which is a female, but you can choose to alter the concept and make it a male if you wish. Draw in the profile of the face as well as the jawline, eye and some of the neck and

For this step you will add detailing to those sinful horns and then add definition to her dying face. This includes detailing in the eye, ear and neck.

You will now draw the arms for both figures as they will begin to intertwine in later steps. Draw in the hand that is gripping the arm and then begin drawing the strands of hair.

You will now draw the back part of the body that is not covered by smoke or hair as well as the other arm/hand just under the female figure. Once that is done you can draw the devil like tail and her foot.

We will begin drawing the face of the angel next. Same as we did the girl a profile view. Add the long greek like locks for his hair and then add detailing and definition to the face.

Now begin sketching out the angel's very toned physique starting with the shoulders, torso and arm. Draw the hand and then you can finish the two interlocked arms. Add the muscles down the stomach and draw in definition to the body as well.

Finish the body for the angel and when that is done you can start the drawing process for the large angel wings.

Here you will finish the wings and then add detailing and definition by drawing out the layers of feathers.

At the base or bed of the ground go ahead and draw large leaves as they are fanned out on the surface. You will then draw the separation line down the center of the two figures which creates the yin yang. This line should be bold, thick and surrounde

For the last step you can sketch in the detailing and definition to those large fan leaves on the ground. When that is done you can erase the mistakes and all the visible guides.

When you are done the drawing comes out looking like the one you see here. It's all ready to be colored in and brought to life.

Description: Hey guys. Welcome to another lesson here on Dragoart. Today I have a couple of special lessons to upload starting with this heart touching tutorial on how to draw life and death yin yang, step by step. This concept art piece was something that I worked on for a few days. It depicts an angel (who represents life) and a human who is reaching out to the angel with her soul secreting through her eyes (dying reaching out). The woman is dying and is reaching out to her guardian angel in hopes of being saved and her horns represent the shadow of all her sins. What she doesn't realise is that she is being saved by leaving her human flesh, ss her sins are forgiven. She begins her journey to the other side where she will join her angel. With all this despair going on around the whole world, I just wanted to create something that was a bit uplifting. Some may not find this piece of art uplifting because someone is dying, but really the person who is passing is actually being born again and will exist in a place where there is no disease, death, pain, sadness or sorrow. Instead, there will only be light, love and eternal happiness. Anyways, I do hope you like this yin yang concept art.
