Description: Today’s tutorial is going to be on one of the four heroes’ that everybody loves. You will learn how to draw Leonardo from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Leonardo is the turtle that wears the blue bandana and uses a Katana sword and other smaller swords as his signature weapon. Out of all the Ninja Turtles Leonardo is the oldest and most responsible. He is also very close to his master Splinter who happens to be a human sized rat. Leonardo is the oldest out of the four and you see him meditating the most in all the movies that were released on the mutated turtles. Standing by a very strict code of honor and a firm believer of Bushido code, this turtle is not a reptile to be reckoned with. Even though he is only 5’4, around 180 pounds, and has muscles that bulge out of every part of his body, Leonardo is smart, strong, and skilled wrapped into one shell, just like the song says “Heroes in a half shell”. I can remember watching the cartoon series when I was a kid and really got into the show everyday it came on. The way they battled Shredder and all his Shreddettes, was awesome. Leonardo was my favorite out of the four Ninja Turtles, he was the one that always sat by himself reading a book or listening to Japanese and new age music while he meditated. Leonardo’s cherishes his family and holds them very dear to his little turtle heart. In the first full length feature film called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, he was the one that had a telekinetic path to Splinter when he was taken prisoner by Shredder. A lot of people that are fans of these four green fighting turtles ask an age old question, what came first, the cartoon series or the full length feature films. Well the answer to that question is pretty simple. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles hit television air waves on December 14, 1987 and it originally began as a 5 part miniseries, soon after it was available for children and adults to enjoy every Saturday morning starting in 1988. The first of the three movies was released in 1990 and included April O’Neil, and Casey Jones. When I first seen the first movie I thought it was right on point with all the characters, and I loved who they chose to do the voice acting for all four turtles. This is a fun tutorial that kids and adults will enjoy without a doubt. You will learn how to draw Leonardo from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles step by step with easy to read instructions. Get your drawing station ready and prepare yourself for one of the awesome characters out of the four TMNT.
