How to Draw Hippo From Mermaid Melody

Step 1.


Start off by making one whole guide shape. This is going to be for both the head and body. Sketch in the facial guidelines too.

Step 2.


In this step you will simply draw out the shape of the head, then add that tuft of hair on the right side of the head.

Step 3.


For this step you will need to draw in the eyes, small beak then the collar for the sailor shirt.

Step 4.


This cute penguin is wearing an adorable sailor hat that is a hard top. Draw the ribbon around base of the hat, then draw the ribbon that hangs to the left.

Step 5.


Okay guys are you ready to draw the torso? Start with the sleeves, then draw the torso which is also the shirt.

Step 6.


We are almost done with this lesson. What you will do here is draw out the tie, draw the seam line down the center of the shirt, and then make the pocket with an anchor logo as well as the small buttons.

Step 7.


Tah Dah, here is your last drawing step. All you have to do is draw the flippers or wings that are peeking through the sleeves which act as hands, then draw the pants and feet. Erase all those mistakes as well.

Step 8.


Here is the line art for Hippo from Mermaid Melody when you are done. Add some color to this adorable critter and you are done.
