How to Draw Astro Boy
1
Start with a circle for his head and then add the facial guidelines. You will then draw out the guidelines for his body as shown here which includes lines for the neck, arms, torso, hips and legs.
2
Start drawing out the shape of his face and then his ears. Draw out the neck shape on the right and then the beginning shape of his right arm. Draw the arched back line and then the shape and style of his boots.
3
You will now draw out the lining for his hair line and then the shapes of is eyes using the facial guidelines you drew in step one. Thicken the left arm and draw out the hand and thumb, and then draw out the right arm and hand fingers and all. Finish
4
You will completely finish drawing out the shape of his body stomach and all as well as draw out the two pointed erect pieces of hair on his head. Draw out the rest of the boots and then add the eyeballs and pupils and color them in as well
5
All you have to do here is draw out his belt and then erase the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one to clean up your work.

Description: I have reached my final drawing lesson for the day and I will end it with something really simple. I am going to show you how to draw Astro Boy step by step. The idea came from the movie preview that I saw right before the movie Twilight started. Astro Boy is a Japanese animated manga character that was created by Osamu Tezuka back in 1952. Astro Boy started out as a manga series and later became a televised animated series from the years of 1963 to 1966. The show between these time frames was only being aired in Japan. The show was about a boy named Astro and though he looked like a normal boy, he was in fact a robot created by a gifted scientist named Tenma. Astro has unbelievable powers for a young looking robot. Astro’s powers include; super strength, x-ray vision, ultimate speed and the ability to fly. His robotic body is powered by positive blue energy. The whole Astro Boy story takes place in the futuristic landscape of Metro City which is very beautiful for an advanced time. Now, I never seen the series, but I know about Astro Boy’s character because one of my old friends used to be a major fan of Astro. The movie is due to be released into theaters in October of 2009 and I’m sure that it will be a big hit seeing how it was originally a manga series turned TV show, turned movie. When the movie previews start airing on TV I will be drawing out more of the characters that are a part of Astro’s life. But for now I will show you how easy it is to learn how to draw Astro Boy step by step. I will be back tomorrow with more drawing fun so keep a look out for new tutorials that will emerge. Later kiddies!
