Artist:

Step 1.
The first thing I want you to do is draw an egg shape for the body of the watermelon slice. Then draw the facial guidelines for the chibi like face you will be drawing. Next draw two more lines that look like TV antennas.

Step 2.
You will now use those antenna lines to draw out the peel of the watermelon as you see here. Once that is done make sure the shape of the peel is nice and even with the thickness all around.

Step 3.
You will draw the line for the actual watermelon fruit as you see here and then draw out the bite mark. Next draw the two cute chibi eyes, and then the chibi mouth. Color in the eyes a bit and then move to the next step.

Step 4.
Before you draw out the watermelon seeds you will need to erase the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one. Once that is done you can start drawing in the watermelon seeds.

Here is what your finished sketch should come out looking like when you are done. Color in the little fella and then you have just finished this lesson on "how to draw a chibi watermelon fruit step by step".

Description:
More and more people are asking me to do tutorials on chibi characters and fruit. So what I am going to submit today is two different chibi lessons. The first one is going to be on “how to draw a chibi watermelon step by step". The watermelon is a popular fruit for the summer months. And since we are all going through summer right now, I thought that this fruit would be ideal for a chibi take over. Of course you can’t just look at a piece of watermelon without your mouth watering right? Well because of that, I drew in a cute bite mark on the melon because drawing it out got me extremely hungry for a nice juicy piece of fresh cold watermelon. Cold watermelon is the best because it’s like your drinking a glass of watermelon juice (which stores actually do not have). I bet if Dole came out with a watermelon juice like they sell pineapple juice, it would take off without a doubt. Anyways, this drawing didn’t take too long only about two hours. It takes me longer to draw things out because I am first using a tablet, then I have to color in the drawing, and then I have to make tutorial steps out of the drawing as well. So all in all I think I make pretty good time for simple lessons like this one here on “how to draw a chibi watermelon”. I have to go because there is still more tutorials to be uploaded so peace out guys and have fun!
