Description: Hello fellow artists and welcome back to DragoArt.com. Today is a special day because the skies are blue and the sun is shining bright. And because of that, I am going to show you how to draw a toucan bird step by step. I was reading a lot this weekend and fell in love with an animal that was the main character. Now before I tell you what the book was about I have to say that it was a children’s book. The reason why I was reading this particular book is because my toddler sister asked me too. Anyways the character in the book was a bird named Johnny. Johnny wanted so much to look like a regular bird because he hated his enormous beak. What kind of bird was Johnny you ask? Well he was a beautiful toucan. This ashamed toucan lived in the rainforest with a bunch of other animals but none that looked like him. Yeah sure there were other birds, but they were parrots and peacocks and everybody thought that those birds where exotic and beautiful. The story is about a toucan that tries real hard to fit in and every time he does he just gets laughed at and pushed away. It wasn’t until he stopped craving the attention of the other birds that they eventually wanted to be around Johnny. It’s basically saying if people don’t like you for who and what you are then don’t bother with them and don’t change yourself for nobody. Toucans are beautiful birds that actually do live in the rainforests of Central and South America. They have bright vivid colored bodies and beaks. Their bills are relatively large and range in many different colors. The length of this bird’s beak ranges between 6 to 7.5 inches long. The main reason for the oversized bill is because it’s used as a desirable mating trait to attract other toucans. Both male and female toucans have long colored beaks, they use their bills to catch morsels and pitch them to one another during a mating ritual that observers like to call “fruit toss”. The diet of a toucan consists of many different fruits and they sometimes feed on insects as well. Unlike other birds, toucans are not a species of bird to migrate. These popular creatures keep their fame alive with their unique colors and body design. In this tutorial I will show you how easy it is to learn how to draw a toucan bird. The step by step instructions make this tutorial a breeze to learn. I hope you have fun with this tutorial and when you’re done you can be creative and color your toucan in any shade you like. I will be back with more fun filled art, so stick around and wait for something new.
