Description: Okay I’m back and I am ready to submit another tutorial on another beautiful bird. This time the bird you will be learning how to draw is a lovebird. Love birds are usually given to people to symbolize their affection toward one another. Example; my mother could give me a love bird which would be her way of telling me she loves me. My father could give my mother a pair of lovebirds to symbolize his loyalty and faithfulness to her as well as saying I love you. These birds are small and stocky and they kind of resemble parrots. The most common lovebird in the United States and in some other countries is the Peach faced lovebird, which is the bird you will be learning how to draw today. Some may ask if they can be taught to speak like a parrot since they are so alike in appearance. The answer is yeah sure they can but it is not common. Lovebirds are not known to be great talkers even when taught. An interesting fact about these birds is that there is a total of nine species of this particular animal eight of which are from Africa and the remaining one is from Madagascar. These birds are common pets in households because they are so affectionate and playful with their mates and their owners. Lovebirds that do not get the required attention they seek develop behavioral problems like feather picking which can be a messy and unattractive sight. I bet most of you are wondering just how small these birds are? Well to answer your question they are between 5-7 inches and weight only about 2-3 ounces. Wow, that is small. So small in fact it puts them on the list of being one of the smallest parrots in the world. The only large thing about them is their beak. The average lifespan of one of these fantastic specimens is around ten to fifteen years depending on care. I hope you enjoyed this brief description on these beautiful animals. Now it is your turn to sit back and learn how to draw a peach face lovebird step by step. I will see you very shortly with my last tutorial for the day.
