Start off with a circly-oval for the basic head shape and add the facial guidelines as shown. The top two lines will be for the eyes, the next for the nose, and the lowest for the mouth.

Next what you will do is draw out the eyes. Make sure they are in between the lines and that the farthest eye is a bit smaller. Draw out a triangle for the nose and begin the mouth. Also, add some ears and put a line on the farthest one as shown.

Next, finish drawing the nose/snout as I did in the picture & be sure to draw all the lines correctly. Change the head shape a bit. You will also need to start drawing out the lines of direction the mane will be going.

Now erase most of your guidelines. Add a bit of shading around the mouth, finish the nose, and add dots on the muzzle. If you wanted a lioness, you could pretty much end here if you erase the mane lines. But if you're making a male lion with a mane,

Congrats, you have made it to your final step. All you must do now is add the mane and whiskers. Follow the picture for help. After this, you can color or shade it in-- and voila! Your picture is done. Hope you enjoyed this!

Description: This is my 3rd tutorial; how to draw the head of a male lion. I know a lot of people have trouble drawing lions because of the nose and the mane so I hope this helps you all. Also, let me know in the comments if theres anything you want me to do a tutorial on (especially with animals, I'm working on those at the moment). I've only been working on lions for a few days so this may not be the best, but I hope you enjoy this nonetheless!
