You will start this step by drawing out the guidelines and shapes that will form a frame for the dog. Start by drawing a circle for the head and add the facial guidelines. Next add the neck line and then a medium sized circle for the torso or chest.

Now start this step by sketching out the shape of the pointed cropped ears and then the length of the snout. You will then draw out the beady eyes and move down to the limbs. Sketch out the shape of his legs and underbelly as well as his hind quarter

Description: It is time for another tutorial on an animal that we are all familiar with. This next animal resembles the Rottweiler and even has a miniature version called the Min Pin. Right now I will show you "how to draw a Doberman", step by step. Why the Doberman you ask? Well for one they are a very popular breed around the world, two; they are voted on the top ten list of best watch dogs ever, and three, because Snoop Dog looks like one as he proved to us in his music video back in the nineties. Now when I first started sketching out this dog breed I tried to think what type of body shape they resembled to a dog that I already drew. Then it came to me, the Great Dane and the Boxer. I first had to find a suitable picture to use as a reference so I could get the detailing to look like the dog down packed. Once that was established I started to sketch out the Doberman by lightly pressing on my sketch pad. I used a sketching pad because doing a drawing of a Doberman or any dog for that matter is very hard to do. After I had the rough sketch drawn out I then scanned it into my comp and started using Photoshop CS3. Like always, I include a description or informative information on the characters or animals that you are about to draw. By doing this you learn something new every day along with your drawing lesson. Now the Doberman Pinscher is a breed that has a bad rep by being misunderstood and mishandled or treated. Starting over one hundred years ago, these canines have been breed to be perfect guard dogs and to have the look of elegance at the same time. The Doberman Pinscher is an energetic breed that has tremendous amounts of strength and stamina. This is the exact trait that makes these dogs so versatile to families for ownership. Now the Doberman is a dog that is believed to be a threat toward people including children and they are also rumored to be very vicious as well. But the fact is Doberman Pinschers prefer to live their lives surrounded by people including their family. Now because this dog is very powerful and very intimidating, if you choose to own a Doberman you must train him/her without having any fear. All members of the family must learn how to train the Doberman as well in order to be fully capable of a family relationship. The typical Pinscher comes in black, black and brown, fawn and black, and blue and red. They reach twenty eight inches tall and can weigh up to one hundred pounds depending on their care. This breed was created back in the 1860’s by a gentleman named Louis Dobermann who was a German tax collector. The Doberman is crossed with German Pinschers, Rottweilers, Beauceron, Pinschers, Manchester Terriers, Greyhounds and English Greyhounds. If you go look at any of these breeds each one resemble the Doberman Pinscher which is pretty cool. This tutorial will show you "how to draw a Doberman" Pinscher step by step. I will be back with more lessons in a bit so stay tuned.
