How to Draw a Dalmatian

Make a circle and a neck guideline like so.

Using the head guide, sketch out the actual shape and structure for your dalmatian's head and snout. The jowls or lips should be a bit loose or droopy.

Next up, draw in the floppy ear and then draw the nose. Add a lip line to the jowls as well.

Here we will draw in the back part of the dog's head which is the neck, then draw the front part of the neck to complete the neck shape in all. Once that is done draw in the dalmatian's eye, then sketch in texture detailing on the face and neck.

Lastly, erase your mistakes along with the guidelines and shapes you made in step one before you start drawing the popular spotting that makes this breed recognizable. Once the spots are drawn in, you can proceed to step six.

Description: I have another dog breed for you guys to tackle today and it's one of my favorite breeds. When I made the tut on the late lead singer from Sublime, Bradley Nowell, it made me think of Lou Dog which was Bradley's dalmatian that he took everywhere with him. Lou Dog was also the mascot for Sublime, so this lesson will show you how to draw a Dalmatian, step by step. These dogs are often known to be the breeds that fire houses use. They are all white with a series of spots on them with no dalmatian having the same spots. A popular movie that showcases dalmatians is by Disney and that is, '101 Dalmatians'. Anyways, I do hope you enjoy this tut, I don't think I ever made a lesson on drawing a dalmatian before so enjoy.
