To begin, draw a long curled position line. This is going to present its snake-like body. Draw a circle at the tip of that line. As you can see there's a box at the tip of the circle. This will be the mouth.

2

Next, draw the cheek, eyebrow, and two rectangle-like boxes in that circle. A big poof oval is circled around the head. This is going to be the hair. A Chinese dragon has lots and lots of hair. Don't forget to draw the other two round circles at the

Now we're going to flesh out the hair. Remember those two huge ovals as the body? We're going to places a long line of air streaming down those ovals. Draw two pegged fingers at the side of the dragon. Place an eye into the eyebrow and a doggy nose a

Now let's draw an eye and tongue for the dragon's face. Can you see those long lines coming from his face? Those are its whiskers. In order to draw a Chinese dragon, you must have these whiskers. They let people know that he's a true Chinese dragon.

Now here's the fun part. We're going to draw two stubby legs. Since the dragon is flying, we're going to place his legs father in distance. Draw his gas sac under his neck and a big clump of fur at his chin. Make some small creasing lines at his tail

Then, make your finishing lines. I prefer to trace my drawings with black ink pens. At the tips of his hair are small lines. This is just added detail to make your dragon's hair seem like hair!

Erase your tracing lines, finish some little details, and your done! It's fun to draw Chinese dragons right?! Name your Chinese dragon a spiritual name (depending on his group.) After your done, color him some pretty blues, greens, and reds

Description: The Chinese dragon is a mythical beast from Chinese folklore. There are nine types of Chinese dragons; there is the imperial, emperor, winged dragon, celestial dragon, spiritual dragon, coiling dragon, horned dragon, and the yellow dragon. The one in this tutorial is a celestial dragon. A celestial dragon protects and supports the temples of the gods, and each of these Chinese dragons rule over the four seas, which consist of the east, south, west, and north. The most powerful one of them all is the horned dragon. This unique creature can produce rain and is completely deaf. There are a few more dragons that I forgot to tell you about. These are the homeless dragons which live in the ocean, and there is the chiao dragon, this one is has scaly skin and lives in marshes but nests dens in mountains. All Chinese dragons enjoy the sound of music, they usually come to fiddlers and trumpeters to listen to them play. Most of the nine popular Chinese dragons have a head of a camel, horns of a deer, eyes of a hare, ears of a bull, a neck of a lizard, they also have the underside of a frog, scales of a carp, paws of a tiger, and the powerful claws of an eagle. Though these dragons look humble, they do have a nice upper row of canine teeth. These are obviously used to eat prey. Did you ever wonder why these Chinese dragons have whiskers at the sides of their snout? These are used the same way a cat uses theirs, it acts like a sixth sense for the dragon, like feeling objects around them. The Chinese dragon comes in varieties of colors. They come in green to gold to blue and to red to all the colors in the rainbow. This tutorial shows you how easy it is to draw a Chinese dragon step by step. The instructions are simple and there is good details for you to learn from. Have a great time.
