Description: This is going to be a tutorial on an animal that everybody is familiar with, the Arabian camel. Now there has always been that question asked by many folks “how many humps does a camel have, and do the humps really store water inside”? The answer to that age old question is; there is more than just one type of camel. For the one we are learning about today, this particular camel only has one hump but since we are drawing a popular animal I figured I would give him two. As for the other question, does a camel store water inside the hump, well that is easy to explain. Camels do not store water in the hump; instead they store fat and a lot of it too. For the Arabian camel their humps stores approximately 80 pounds of fat that they later use to break down into water. So that means that in a way, yeah, the hump does store water, but as a reality it really is a big fat reservoir. Another interesting fact about the camel is that their humps actually give camels their ability to travel up to 100 desert miles without water. Now because these animals do so well in the hot desert climate, they rarely sweat at all even when the temperatures reach above 120 degrees. If you were to measure how tall a camel is they come in right around 7 feet tall from foot to hump. These animals weigh as much as 1,600 pounds and another amazing thing about the Arabian camel is that when they drink at a water hole, they can consume 30 gallons of water in a matter of 13 minutes. Talk about being thirsty. They literally soak up water like an old dries out sponge. Some may wonder how a camel breaths when they travel through sand storms and such. Well, the camel’s nose closes like a vale to keep the sand from going up their nose. They also have big beautiful bushy eyebrows and not one but two rows of eyelashes to protect their eyes from the sun and sand. Camels also have large thick lips so when they are feeding they have no problems eating vegetation that have thorns on them. A camel is a mysterious and beautiful animal. So in this tutorial you will learn "how to draw a camel", step by step. All you have to do is follow the steps and easy to read instructions. See you all soon.
