Step 1.

Lets draw out the guidelines first to develop the frame work for your basketball player. Start with a small circle for the head, and then draw in the guidelines for the face, neck, shoulders, torso, and legs.

Step 2.

Here you will start sketching out the shape of the players entire head, and face like you see here. You will also draw out the hair, and ear shape too.

Step 3.

Start sketching out the face which is just the eyes, eyebrows, and the nose. Notice that this player has a real mean look on his face, thats because he is going in for the dunk!

Step 4.

Now simply draw out mouth to finish off the face, and then move to step five.

Step 5.

Okay guys are you ready to draw out the jersey now? Good, before you do so you have to draw out the shape of the neck, and then you can draw in the baggy jersey that basketball players wear.

Step 6.

You are almost done with this tutorial and as you can see you are right in the middle of the lesson. Here you will sketch out the upper body which is the muscular arms, and then draw in the detailing or definition like the underarm, elbows, and on th

Step 7.

Now you will draw out the large hands like so, and then draw in the basketball itself. Don't forget to draw in the basketball lines, and add some detailing to the jersey, and the body too.

Step 8.

Now it's time to draw out the shorts, and when you do this make sure you don't draw the shorts too short. If you like you can color in some stripes on the sides, or you can leave the uniform plain.

Step 9.

Now draw out the legs, and then draw out the detailing in the knees. Very simple so far right?

Step 10.

Finally guys, here is the step I was talking about. The feet are way to small to belong to a basketball players. Just draw in larger sneakers, and then you are all done. Erase the guides that you made in step one and that's it.

Step 11.

Now you have yourself an awesome looking basketball player that can be turned into your favorite NBA star. Thanks for joining me with this lesson on how to draw a basketball player.

Description: Basketball is a sport that almost everyone loves. Turning on the TV when a game is on is probably one of the most exciting days that an individual will have during the whole week. I for one am not a fan of any sport except UFC, and even then I don't stop everything to watch a fight. Today I wanted to provide you will a lesson that can show you a real simple way to "draw a basketball player" without all the fuse. This is a step by step tutorial that is going to be a popular lesson here on Dragoart. I do however want to point out that I know there is a mess up with the player's body and that is his feet. I don't know why, but I drew them to look like he is the first basketball player to have a size six shoe. I am going to update the drawing later on today, but for now when you draw out the feet and sneakers, just keep in mind that you should draw them to be a bit longer then what they look like in the lesson. I decided that since Blake Griffin did an amazing dunk that is now being called the "Blake Griffin dunk", I should hurry up and draw a basketball player attempting a slam dunk. The only thing I forgot to add was the hoop, but that's not a bad thing because I have a tutorial on drawing a basketball hoop so you can draw it in if you like by following that step by step lesson as well. I only know about the famous dunk heard around the world because it's all over the Internet. Other than that, I didn't even know who Blake Griffin was. Drawing this basketball player should be rather simple. You can change the color of the uniform if you like and even draw in your favorite teams logo on the jersey if you are looking to draw this player to look like your favorite NBA star. I guess that just about does it for today. I will be back tomorrow with more drawing fun so come back around to see what I shall surprise you with then. In the mean time have fun learning "how to draw a basketball player". Adios people, and have an awesome day!
