Drawing an Expression

Start with the head guide shape and then sketch in the facial guidelines as well as the neck guide.

Define the shape of the girl's face which should be portioned and semi round. Add the hairline and then move along to step three.

We will now utilize the facial guidelines to draw out the big shapes of her eyes. The upper lids should be thick with long lashes. Draw and color in the eyebrows as well as sketch out her small nose.

Up next, draw the rest of the eyes which is the lower lid line and lashes, and then the eyeballs. You can now draw in her mouth or lips.

Lastly, draw in the hair which is fluttering about. This is just simple lines that spew from the head. Along with the hair you will need to draw in the shape of her neck and some of the shoulders.

Here is the line art when done. Now you can go ahead and color in the drawing to bring it to vivid life.

Description: I don't know what the deal is with this drawing concept, but I absolutely love the way she came out. The face in itself is beautiful. I love the eyes, nose and mouth and have a feeling that others will love this lesson too.
