How to Draw Usagi Yojimbo
1
Let us begin by making two shapes, one for the head and another for the body. Sketch in the facial guidelines as well as the limb lines.
2
Using the head guide you can start drawing out the actual shape of Usagi's head and face. Since you are drawing a rabbit, the cheeks should be puffy and there should be a couple chunky strands of hair on his head.
3
Use the facial guidelines to draw in the intense eyes. You will not only have to draw the shapes of each eye, you will also have to make sure that your drawing comes out looking like the step you see here. Draw and color in the nose, then add the lip
4
At the base of the head draw a band. You will then draw the large rabbit ears and be sure to bend them at the mid section.
5
Sketch out the shoulders and arms, then draw the bare area which will later be for the buttons and detailing.
6
Finish drawing out the arms, then draw the hands. You will also need to draw the detailing to the collar of his gear. Once the body and some clothing is drawn in, you can draw the katana that he uses as his main weapon.
7
You are already almost done. Draw the legs next. Since Usagi is wearing baggy style pants, you will have to be sure that the pants are layered in a puffed out manner.
8
All you have to do here is draw the tails from the belt, and then sketch in some crinkling to the crotch area.
9
Are you ready to finish this drawing? Good, draw the feet and add lines to create toes. Erase your guidelines and shapes when you are done.
