Start sketching out the basic framework for your mythical Kraken by first sketching out the shape of the head, torso, and then attach all four arm limb lines. Add the facial guidelines and draw the shapes at the ends of each arm.

Start sketching out the monstrous face as you see here. Remember, the Kraken resembles a lot like the creature from Black Lagoon. Start by sketching out a hard shaped fin on top of the head, and then draw the eyes, brows, and then the mean evil like

As I said in the description, the Kraken has a muscular mans upper body. You will sketch out the chest, and then the human like arms. This sea creature has a total of four arms which means you have to draw them all out. But don't rush, just take your

Finish sketching out the right side of the face, and be sure to add the detailing lines like you see here. Once that is done, you can draw the chin, neck, and finish off the upper arms, and claw like hands. Each hand should only have a total of four

Well you finally reached the last drawing step which means all you have to do is finish drawing out the left arm and hand, as well as detail the knuckles, and the rest of the monsters stomach. Erase all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step

Description: Clash of the Titans was probably one of the biggest hit films of the eighties when the first adaptation was released back in 1981. I recently learned that a recreation of popular eighties film is going to be in theaters sometime in March of 2010. Because such an awesome movie is going to be done over, I wanted to submit a lesson that shows you “how to draw the Kraken, step by step”. As with a lot of mythological creatures, the Kraken is from Greek myth. Now in all originality, "in myth" the Kraken is in fact a giant squid that is said to be as big as an island. As time goes on, and as the different stories stretch, a giant squid turns into a giant octopus. There is no mention that this enormous sea creature has a mans torso, with four arms, and a head that looks a lot like the swamp monster that was in “The Creature from Black Lagoon”. The cool thing about the Kraken from Clash of the Titans is that, it's original which also makes it unique. In the flick, Poseidon releases the Kraken twice, once to flood the kingdom of Argos, and another time when Queen Cassiopeia compares the beauty of Andromeda, to the Goddess Thetis. The goddess is livid and makes a demand that Andromeda be sacrificed to the Kraken to save Joppa from total annihilation. Of course Perseus comes to her rescue and kills the Kraken with the head of Gorgon Medusa. The creature dies when he is turned to stone by Medusa's stare. I was going to do a tutorial on the new Kraken from the 2010 movie, but instead I figured it would be best to keep it original. After all if you do remember Clash of the Titans, you too will want to learn how to draw the Kraken, step by step" the way he looks in the 1981 film. Have fun and be sure to join me again. Adios amigos!
